Costas Markides is London Business School Robert P Bauman Professor of Strategic Leadership. He specialises in innovation and strategy. In his recent book “Fast second” Markides shows how big and already existing companies can create new markets. His current interest is the strategic innovation: how companies can break the rules in their existing businesses Costas Markides studied at Boston University he received his BA (Distinction) and MA in Economics from Boston University and his MBA and DBA from the Harvard Business School. He was the participant of World Economic Forum in Davos. He leads his own research and publishes texts about the strategic innovation. He is interested Strategic management, competitive strategy, corporate entrepreneurship, corporate renewal, corporate strategy, diversification and restructuring. . He wrote following books: “Fast Second: How Smart Companies Bypass Radical Innovation to Conquer New Markets”, “Strategic Thinking for the Next Economy”, “All the Right Moves: A Guide to Crafting Breakthrough Strategy” and numerous articles in w Harvard Business Review, Sloan Management Review, Directors & Boards, Leader to Leader, Long Range Planning, Business Strategy Review, British Journal of Management, Journal of International Business Studies, Strategic Management Journal i Academy of Management Journal. He is also the editor of European Management Journal and member of editorial board of Strategic Management Journal oraz Academy of Management Journal.
